<em>&#8220;This photo shows my old backpack on the right, it was a rough old thing which I know nothing about. The photo was taken way back in 1980 when I went to India and Nepal, the photo taken shortly before arriving at Namche Bazaar on the way to Mt Everest. This trek lasted about 2 weeks, the whole trip was 3 months. The guy in the photo was a porter who helped carry our stuff. In hindsight, I&#8217;m not sure why we didn&#8217;t carry it ourselves though it is good to employ local people and help them earn an income.&#8221;</em> &#8211; Ian<br />
