Ian Employed a Local Porter in Nepal

“This photo shows my old backpack on the right, it was a rough old thing which I know nothing about. The photo was taken way back in 1980 when I went to India and Nepal, the photo taken shortly before arriving at Namche Bazaar on the way to Mt Everest. This trek lasted about 2 weeks, the whole trip was 3 months. The guy in the photo was a porter who helped carry our stuff. In hindsight, I’m not sure why we didn’t carry it ourselves though it is good to employ local people and help them earn an income.” - Ian
