“Najam and Baqir look out over the sprawling Hushe Valley spread out at their feet from the top of the high mountain pass Gondogoro La (5620m), steeling themselves for the kilometer long near vertical descent via fixed rope over treacherous scree and slippery ice to the beginning of the Gondogoro Glacier and the road home.
